Mission
To identify, nurture, and accelerate high-potential, rural-focused startups by providing comprehensive support, including mentorship, infrastructure, seed funding, market access, and capacity building, leveraging BAIF‘s deep expertise and network to drive socio-economic and environmental impact in rural Maharashtra.
About BAIF
BAIF Development Research Foundation is a Pune-based non-governmental organization founded in 1967 with a long history of promoting sustainable rural development across India. It works to improve livelihoods and socio-economic well-being in rural communities by integrating climate-resilient agriculture, natural resource management, livestock development, agri-horti-forestry, and other income-generating activities. The foundation’s mission focuses on creating opportunities for gainful self-employment and sustainable livelihoods, especially for disadvantaged rural families, through appropriate technology, capacity building, extension services, and community participation. Its multidisciplinary programmes span multiple states and address issues such as food security, gender equity, environmental sustainability, and economic inclusion in rural areas.
